A chance to produce my biggest ever print! 1 x 2 metres and printed by a 12.5 tonne vintage steam roller, how could I say no!
I was asked to be involved with ‘The Big Steam Print’ by Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft and crowd funded through the Art Fund. I set about finding an appropriate quote to sit well with the scale of the print, and sourced designs of wood type lettering to create the final artwork. Because of the scale, each letter was individually laser cut onto wood and then hand placed, back to front, onto the final wooden base.
The final piece had to be cut in half to fit into the van. I was able to print at both Amberley Museum and the London Transports Museum Depot in Acton.
